DROWNING POOL Label Spokesperson: DAVE WILLIAMS' Parents Will Get New Home
September 11, 2002DROWNING POOL are currently working on a commemorative DVD to celebrate the life of their frontman Dave Williams who passed away in August of this year.
"The past three to four weeks has been a period of time I will always look back upon as a painful one, and I wanted to formally thank all of you for treating Dave Williams with dignity and respect in the wake of his passing," Steve Karas, a spokesman for the band's record label, Wind-up Records, wrote in an official statement. "In the coming months, we will be releasing a DVD celebrating Dave's life.
"When he was alive, his primary dream was to find a level of success that would allow him to buy a new home for his parents. The Chairman and Owner of Wind-Up, Alan Meltzer, has generously offered to buy this home with the first $250,000 of proceeds coming from the sale of the release. Even if the DVD does not generate the revenue, this dream will be realized. Once the future plans of CJ, Stevie and Mike become clear, I will share them. Again, I offer thanks from the heart to all of you that made a very tough job a whole lot easier than it could have been."
